行きはロンドンに寄りましたが、帰りはシンガポールに寄ってきました。
2泊お世話になったのが、Republic of Singapore Yacht Club（RSYC）です。
RSYCはメンバー以外でも宿泊できるようになっています。

チャンギ空港からはタクシーで30分くらいだったかな。
タクシーの中から激しく降る雨を見ながら、「車寄せにキャノピーなんてあるのかな、ないだろうなあ。スーツケースを下ろすだけでずぶ濡れになるなあ」と考えていました。

が、到着するころには雨もやみ、ほっと一安心。

ちょうど旧正月（中国の春節）が終わったころで、ゲートにはその名残がありました。シンガポールには中国系の人が多いんですよね。

その向こうにはプール。プールサイドにはレストラン。
ああ…夢に見た南国のバカンス（ちょっと短いけど）！
大好きなクラブメッドをちょっと思い出しました。

翌日の朝食もそのレストランで。
夫はラクサを、私はお粥を注文しました。

以前、北京に行ったときに「なんておいしいんだろう！」と思って。日本のお粥とはちょっと違いますよね、トッピングとか。
それ以来、機会があると（あまりないですが）注文せずにはいられません。

一日目は魚のお粥、二日目はチキンのお粥を試しました。どちらもおいしかった。

RSYCにはプールもあります。やはり南国なので、プールはマストですかね。
かなり大きくて、一番長いところは20〜25mくらいはあるかも。泳ぎましたよー。

今度シンガポールに行く機会があったら、またRSYCに泊まりたいと思いました。

On the way to Japan, we stopped in London, but on the way back, we stopped in Singapore.
We stayed for two nights at the Republic of Singapore Yacht Club (RSYC).

RSYC allows non-members to stay, which is nice.

It was about a 30-minute taxi ride from Changi Airport, if I remember correctly.
From inside the taxi, watching the heavy rain, I was thinking, “Do they even have a canopy at the entrance? Probably not… I’m going to get completely soaked just getting my suitcases out.”

But by the time we arrived, the rain had stopped, and I felt so relieved.

It was just after Chinese New Year (Spring Festival), and there were still some decorations left at the gate. There are a lot of people of Chinese descent in Singapore.

Beyond that, there was a pool. And by the pool, a restaurant.
Ah… the tropical vacation I had dreamed of (even if it was a short one)!
It reminded me a little of Club Med, which I love.

We had breakfast at that restaurant the next day.
My husband ordered laksa, and I ordered congee.

The first time I had congee was when I visited Beijing, and I remember thinking, “This is so delicious!”
It’s quite different from Japanese rice porridge, especially with the toppings.
Since then, whenever I get the chance (which isn’t often), I can’t help but order it.

On the first day, I tried fish congee, and on the second day, chicken congee. Both were delicious.

RSYC also has a pool. I mean, it’s a tropical place, so a pool is a must, right?
It’s quite large—the longest side might be around 20 to 25 meters. I even went for a swim.

If I have a chance to visit Singapore again, I would definitely like to stay at RSYC again.
