旅もいよいよ最終日を迎えました。
この日はラッフルズホテルでハイティーを楽しむことにしました。

ずっと憧れていた、ラッフルズホテルでのハイティー。宿泊は難しくても、ハイティーなら頑張れば実現できるかも…と思っていた場所です。実はずっと昔に友人とトライしたことがあるのですが、そのときは予約が取れず、別のホテルで代わりのハイティーをすることになった、ちょっと苦い思い出もありました。今回はしっかり事前に予約して、無事に訪れることができました。

シンガポールの国定記念物に指定されているだけあって、建物そのものも見どころのひとつ。
コロニアル様式の外観がとても美しく、独特の雰囲気を醸し出しています。

ハイティーは、まず好みのお茶を選ぶところからスタート。
続いて、色とりどりのフィンガーフードが美しく盛り付けられたスタンドが運ばれてきます。
お替りも自由とのことでしたが、思っていた以上にボリュームがあり、追加をお願いする余裕はありませんでした。

ハイティーそのものが「思わず唸るほど素晴らしい」という感じではなかったものの、この場所に来られたこと、そして長年の憧れをひとつ叶えられたという満足感はとても大きなものでした。

その後はRSYCに戻って少し休憩し、タクシーでチャンギ空港へ向かいました。

すべてのものに終わりがあるように、旅にも終わりがあります。
今回の旅も、本当に楽しい時間でした。

Our trip finally came to its last day.

Since our flight to London was early in the morning on the 22nd, we decided to spend our final day enjoying high tea at Raffles Hotel Singapore.

High tea at Raffles had always been a dream of mine. Staying there might be out of reach, but high tea felt like something we could manage if we tried. Years ago, a friend and I had hoped to go, but we couldn’t get a reservation and ended up going to a different hotel instead — a slightly bitter memory. This time, though, we did it properly. Reservation secured!

As expected from a designated national monument, the building itself is worth the visit. The colonial-style architecture creates such a unique and elegant atmosphere — it really feels like stepping into another era.

High tea began with selecting our tea, which was already a treat in itself. Then came the beautifully arranged plates of finger foods. Everything looked delicate and inviting. Refills were included, but honestly, we were so full that we couldn’t even think about asking for more.

Was the high tea itself absolutely unforgettable? Maybe not to that level. But the experience — the setting, the atmosphere, and the satisfaction of finally visiting a place I had dreamed about for so long — made it completely worthwhile.

After that, we returned to RSYC for a short rest, and then headed to Singapore Changi Airport by taxi.

Everything comes to an end, and travel is no exception.

But this trip — once again — was a good one.
